We are off to a strong start, and we appreciate your continued partnership as we begin our third full week of school.
Student Safety & Expectations
Please take a few minutes this week to talk with your student about making safe and responsible choices at school. We need your partnership in reinforcing that fighting, smoking/vaping, threats, and other unsafe behaviors are not acceptable at First Creek and will result in appropriate consequences in accordance with district policy.
We also want students to understand the importance of "See Something, Say Something." If students see or hear about a fight, weapon, threat, smoking/vaping, or anything else that could affect the safety of our school community, they should immediately tell a trusted adult. Students should never encourage a fight, gather around to watch, record it, or post it on social media. Keeping First Creek safe is everyone's responsibility.
Save the Date – Tuesday, September 29!
Our Back-to-School Night & Attendance Awareness Month Celebration will be held Tuesday, September 29 from 4-7pm. Come meet your student's teachers and enjoy games and activities for the entire family. Additional details will be shared soon.
Attendance Awareness Month – Every Minute Matters!
September is Attendance Awareness Month. Last year, First Creek had the lowest middle-school attendance rate in the district, and we need every family's help to improve.
We are also noticing that a significant number of students are arriving late to school in the morning. Being at school is important, but being on time is equally important. When students arrive late, they miss valuable instructional time, classroom routines, directions, and learning that can be difficult to make up.
Please help us by making sure your student arrives at school every day and on time, ready to learn. Every day matters, and every minute of instruction counts!
First Creek Reminders
First Creek is a no-cell-phone and uniform school. Cell phones must remain off and put away throughout the school day, and every student must wear a First Creek top. T-shirts are available for $10 and sweatshirts for $25 in the main office.
Please also complete the CNEEB application by October 1. Completing this form helps determine funding for our school and may reduce family fees for athletics, before- and after-school programs, and college applications.
Vision & Hearing Screening
From September through December, schools will conduct vision and hearing screenings during the school day for 7th-grade students. If additional care is recommended, our school nurse will send a referral home and can assist families with finding follow-up resources.
Families of students in grades not scheduled for screening this year may request vision and hearing testing by contacting our school nurse.
Thank you for your continued partnership and for helping us make First Creek a safe, welcoming, and academically focused school for every student.
Eagles are always on time, on track, and on a mission to academic excellence!
