Happy Sunday, First Creek families. This is your Sunday update for the week ahead.

Please save the date! Our Back-to-School Night and Attendance Awareness Month Celebration will be held on Tuesday, September 29. Come meet your student’s teachers and enjoy games and activities for the entire family.

September is Attendance Awareness Month. Last year, First Creek had the lowest middle-school attendance rate in the district. We need every family’s help to ensure students attend school every day and arrive on time.

Please remember that First Creek is a no-cell-phone and uniform school. Cell phones must remain off and put away throughout the school day. Every student must also wear a First Creek top. T-shirts are $10, and sweatshirts are $25 in the main office.

Free vaccinations will be available to Tacoma Public Schools students on Thursday, September 24, from 3:15 to 6:15 p.m. at the MultiCare Clinic at Mount Tahoma High School. Registration information is available on our school website.

We all have a role to play in keeping our schools safe. Bullying is not tolerated. Bullying, harassment, or intimidation can take many forms, including online posts, and verbal or physical acts. You can report bullying or harassment online, links to forms are on our website. Also, a reminder that schools are weapon-free, drug-free, tobacco-free, and alcohol-free zones. And threatening a school is a crime. Any threat to a school, student, or staff member is taken seriously. If you see something, say something. We encourage everyone in our community who sees or hears a threat to call 911 and notify the school.

Take a look at our website for tips to understand when students are too sick to be at school and when they can return to normal activities. If you're looking for a healthcare resource, MultiCare and SeaMar offer school-based clinic services to all Tacoma Public Schools students. The clinics are at Mount Tahoma High School and Lincoln High School. Get more information on our website!

Registration is also open for our Beyond the Bell after-school program. Session One clubs include Creative Studio, Esports, Eagle Center, Fashion Design, Innovative Cutz barbering, Nature Art, and Outdoor Adventure Club. Please visit our school website for additional information and registration.

Finally, please complete the CNEEB application by October 1. This form helps determine funding for our school and may reduce family fees for athletics, before- and after-school programs, and college applications.

Remember: Eagles are always on time, on track, and on a mission to academic excellence!

GO EAGLES!!!!!!
